It’s official — VetStrong is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit! Built by veterans, for veterans.

We are proud to announce that the VetStrong Project is now officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) veteran nonprofit. This designation marks an exciting new chapter for our mission and allows us to better serve those who served our country. With nonprofit status, we can grow our programs, expand our outreach, and strengthen the support systems available to veterans in our community, including vital veteran support services.

For years, we have seen firsthand the challenges many veterans face after leaving the military. The transition to civilian life can bring a loss of structure, community, and identity. In addition, many service members carry invisible wounds such as veteran PTSD, depression, anxiety, or other struggles tied to their service. Our mission is to ensure that no veteran has to walk this path alone. By combining fitness, counseling, and community, we provide comprehensive veteran support that addresses both physical and mental well-being.

Why Our Work Matters

Veterans often encounter unique barriers when it comes to finding and maintaining consistent support. Some struggle to connect with traditional gyms because they feel out of place. Others find it difficult to seek out veteran mental health resources because of stigma, lack of access, or not knowing where to turn. At VetStrong, we remove those barriers by creating spaces and programs specifically designed for the veteran population.

When a veteran joins one of our programs, they don’t just gain access to a gym or a class—they join a community that understands their experiences. They find coaches and peers who know the impact of service-related injuries, trauma, and loss. They also connect with mental health professionals and support systems that are equipped to address the realities of veteran PTSD and other challenges unique to military life.

Supporting Every Generation of Veterans

While our mission is to serve all veterans, we place special emphasis on reaching the younger generation of veterans. Many of today’s post-9/11 veterans face unique challenges—balancing military transition with school, young families, or new careers—while still coping with the impact of service. Their needs are different from older generations, and our programs are designed to reflect that reality.

This doesn’t mean we leave out the veterans who came before them. In fact, we believe that creating a space where generations can connect is one of the most powerful ways to build resilience. Younger veterans gain mentorship and wisdom from those who have already walked the path, while older veterans benefit from renewed energy and connection with peers who share the same commitment to service. By bridging generations, we ensure that veteran support is inclusive, relevant, and impactful for all.

Services We Offer

As a veteran nonprofit, we are dedicated to building well-rounded programs that go beyond a single service. Our vision includes:

  • Fitness Access & Training: Veterans will have access to gyms equipped with specialty strength training tools and knowledgeable coaches. We focus on building confidence, resilience, and physical health, because fitness is often a powerful first step in healing.
  • Veteran Mental Health Resources: We connect veterans to counseling, peer support groups, and evidence-based programs designed to help them navigate PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. Our therapists and coaches are trained in trauma-informed care and military culture.
  • Community Support: We create opportunities for veterans and their families to connect through events, workshops, and outreach programs. These connections reduce isolation and foster a sense of belonging, which is vital for long-term health.
  • Education & Life Skills: We host workshops on health, wellness, and personal growth. Whether it’s learning how to create routines, manage stress, or set new goals, these educational programs help veterans thrive in civilian life.

How the Community Can Help

Our work cannot be done alone. Community support is the backbone of every successful veteran nonprofit, and there are many ways you can get involved:

  • Donate: Every donation goes directly toward programs that provide fitness memberships, mental health resources, and community-building opportunities for veterans.
  • Become a Community Partner: Local businesses and organizations can collaborate with us to expand the services we provide. From offering discounts to hosting events, partnerships help us build a stronger network of support. Become a Community Partner Now – It’s FREE
  • Volunteer Your Time: Whether it’s helping with events, mentoring veterans, or supporting outreach efforts, volunteers make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.
  • Spread the Word: Awareness is powerful. Sharing our mission ensures more veterans struggling with PTSD or searching for community will know there is a place for them at VetStrong.

Looking Ahead

Achieving 501(c)(3) status is more than just a legal designation—it’s a promise. It’s a commitment to every veteran who walks through our doors or reaches out for help. It means that we will always put veterans first, using every resource we have to support their journey toward health, strength, and community.

We envision a future where veterans do not slip through the cracks of the system, where no veteran feels alone in their struggles, and where veteran support is a community-wide commitment. As a veteran nonprofit, we are determined to lead the way in making that vision a reality.

Together, we can ensure that veterans receive the support they deserve—not just in moments of crisis, but throughout their journey of healing and growth.
